Abstract:
Presented here is the raw multibeam bathymetry data acquired from 2025-08-16 to 2025-08-18 as part of RV Skagerak SK2514 research cruise also referred to as KANG-GLAC #2. Bathymetry data were collected using a Kongsberg EM2040 multibeam echo-sounder installed on RV Skagerak. Data are provided in raw Kongsberg format (.all). Data are unprocessed and therefore may contain incorrect depth measurements without further processing.
KANG-GLAC is a NERC funded project to investigate how the accelerating decay of the Greenland Ice Sheet will progress with climate change, and to better understand the knock-on effects this will have on ocean circulation and marine productivity. This work was funded by Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) grant NE/V006509/1.

| Lineage/Methodology: | R/V Skagerak is equipped with a Kongsberg EM 2040 multibeam echosounder (MBES). This system is a high-resolution, dual RX (receiver), single swath, 200 kHz system, designed for detailed seafloor mapping up to ~500 m depth. The EM 2040 multibeam echosounder collects data including depth measurements, backscatter intensity, and water column information, providing a comprehensive picture of the seafloor. The data acquisition software used to collect information from the multibeam sonar is SIS (Seafloor Information System) version 4.3.2. |
