Phase-sensitive radar (ApRES) time series data from Ronne Ice Shelf, 2016, Site S0415

GB/NERC/BAS/PDC/01965

Summary

Abstract:
The dataset comprises ApRES (Autonomous phase-sensitive Radio Echo Sounder) time series from a site (S0415) located on the western Ronne Ice Shelf. The instrument was deployed in early 2016 as part of the Filchner Ice Shelf System (FISS) project. The aim was to provide time series of basal melt rates and the vertical strain rate.

Funding:
The data were acquired under funding from NERC - the Ice shelves in a warming world: Filchner Ice Shelf System, Antarctica (FISS) grant NE/L013770/1

Keywords:
ApRES, Basal melt rate, Ice Shelf, Ronne Ice Shelf, Vertical strain rate
