OH (3-1) band intensity maps from Advanced Mesospheric Temperature Mapper (AMTM) January 2014 - January 2016 (Norway)
GB/NERC/BAS/PDC/01924

Summary

Abstract:
Intensity maps of airglow emissions from the hydroxyl radical (OH) were obtained from the Arctic Lidar Observatory for Middle Atmosphere Research (ALOMAR) in Norway. These maps correspond to emissions from the OH (3,1) rotation-vibration band. The intensity maps were generated using emissions centred at 1523 nm and 1542 nm, corresponding to the P1(2) and P1(4) rotational transitions of this band, along with background regions centred at 1521 nm. The topmost and rightmost points of the images represent geographic north and east, respectively. Detailed image metadata is stored in an extended header starting at position 200 and is outlined in the accompanying README document.

The data were collected using the Advanced Mesospheric Temperature Mapper (AMTM), operated by Utah State University, USA. The AMTM is supported under the NSF collaborative grant AGS-1042227.
