Falkland Islands SuperDARN radar high-time resolution meridional meteor winds - 2010 and 2011

Abstract:
The data set comprises high-time resolution meteor wind velocity data from the southern hemisphere Falkland Islands radar (FIR), part of the Super Dual Auroral Radar Network (SuperDARN). The velocities are line-of-sight velocities aligned in the geographic meridional direction (from FIR beam 6, range gate 4). The data cover the interval from 2010 to 2011 inclusive.

| Lineage/Methodology: | The data are FIR SuperDARN line-of-sight velocity measurements of winds in the mesosphere lower thermosphere (MLT). The data are from the geographic meridional beam 6, range gate 4 (315 km range). The meteor wind data are measured a few hundred km south of the radar site, and the position is only known approximately. Hence the stated location is an approximate measurement location. |
