It is made up of two layers, a traditional hillshade with a Z factor of 5, which is overlaid with a multidirectional hillshade with a Z factor of 2, and displayed with a 30% transparency, such that overall effect is a good balance between capturing detail around the peaks and also the flatter areas. The hillshade coastline matches the Antarctic coastline dataset v7.11 distributed by the [Antarctic Digital Database](https://scar.org/library-data/maps/add-digital-database).",

      "statement": "The Reference Elevation Mosaic of Antarctica (REMA) v2.0 10m tiles that cover British Antarctic Territory were downloaded and mosaicked into a single dataset using ArcGIS Pro v3. A multidirectional hillshade was then produced using this mosaic, with a Z factor of 2 and second traditional hillshade with a Z factor of 5. Both were clipped using a polygon derived from the Antarctic Digital Database high resolution coastline polygon dataset (v7.11). The multidirectional hillshade was then overlaid on the traditional hillshade, and given a transparency of 30%. Final contrast enhancements were applied to ensure the two layers in combination achieved the desired effect.
